Having the heart of a servant is exactly what Jesus was looking for in his disciples and followers. Creating youth ministry activities that really matter include going out into the community and reaching out to others. Some churches are so focused on their own growth, that they forget to reach out to the broader community. Examples of activities that can help foster community awareness and reaching out to the broader group include opening up your church for others to use, such as a kitchen or meeting room. Also, teaching youth that they can really impact the community by bringing clothes and essentials to homeless shelters. The most important part is that they look to others to support their efforts while reaching out in the community.
